Computerized Facility Management System and On-going Maintenance for Real Estate Investment Trust
Project Description
SD·I developed a customized data retrieval system to help the real estate owner track information about more than 7 million square feet of commercial and industrial real estate nationwide. For the data retrieval system, SD·I developed software that organized, stored, retrieved, and displayed information about each property, transaction, and project. The software consolidated digitized maps, floor plans, and broker data mailers into one integrated system that will eventually be accessible to the real estate professionals from any personal computer.
SD·I also created Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) architectural drawings for use in calculating square footage data, per BOMA '96, producing demising plan books and examining and verifying rentable square footage numbers. The drawings also need help audit expiration dates and encumbrance information.
SD·I also maintains the emergency plans required by City Ordinance and submits the plans to the municipality's emergency management office.
Project Goals
The challenge for the real estate owner was to create an accessible system to manage and provide expansive and varied real estate information. This information will help brokers provide tenant information ranging from floor plans, space availability, and lease expiration to rent costs, blueprints, and amenities.
